Broadbandchoice.co.uk reported on yesterday that BT broadband confirmed to bring the fiber optic technology to 41 towns in UK market by spring 2012. The new offering of BT broadband package will cover residents and business in those 41 towns which are mostly located in UK, some parts of Scotland and Wales. BT subscribers in those areas will benefit from download speeds of up to 40Mbps by spring 2012, when the work is due to be completed
BT commit that with fiber optic broadband technology to this 40 towns in UK market will bring super- fast broadband to 300.000 properties although it admitted a minority of premises in these locations will not be hooked up due to economic and technical constraints. Chief executive of BT Openreach Steve Robertson said: “The inclusion of 41 market towns in our rollout plan firmly demonstrates our commitment to finding solutions for local communities.”
If you are located on one of these 41 towns, you can wait this BT broadband service to get new experience super-fast broadband service from BT broadband. Earlier this month, the company revealed six rural areas will be included in its fibre broadband deployment schedule after they finished top in the Race to Infinity campaign.
Broadbandchoice.co.uk also reported that this scheme involved a vote to determine which parts of the UK had the highest level of demand for the technology
