Hollywood film studios attempt to force BT to block film site

However, filesharing sites typically don’t have too much trouble dodging the long arm of the law – Newzbin’s owner went into administration, and soon after an identical site appeared, believed to be operating from Sweden.

BT’s Cleanfeed system permits it to block abroad web sites which contain pictures of illegal actions, and might be put to use blocking Newzbin if the courts agree. The MPA spokesman additionally mentioned that it was hoped that different ISPs will ‘take notice’ if the case goes in its favour.
