Mobile broadband service from Telkomsel: Telkomsel Flash and Direct Tunnel

Competition on mobile broadband service is very tight in Indonesia lately. Some of telecommunication companies migrates their network to provide mobile broadband service to their subscriber. Telkomsel with 3G and HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) is also doing the same with upgrading their technology to the latest one to give high quality of mobile broadband service. To optimize their mobile broadband service than Telkomsel provides wireless modem as the common device to connect mobile broadband network which called Telkomsel Flash. Telkomsel provides Telkomsel Flash into 2 types, wireless USB modem and data card (PCMCIA). Telkomsel cooperate with several manufactures to provide wireless modem to connect their mobile broadband network e.g. Huawei (Huaewi E620), ZTE (ZTE MF320/330), OPTION Globetrotter, NOVATEL Wireless MERLIN and SIERRA Wireless AIRCARD

Network availability is the main issue on mobile broadband service. Unavailability of the service is mostly caused by high occupancy on the network while more mobile broadband traffic hit the network.
