How to implement BREW services?

Value Added Service (VAS) through mobile internet service is giving flexibility for the telecommunication company to custom existing telecommunication service they already run or create new innovation based on subscribers request. BREW platform gives more choices for Telecommunication Company to create many Value Added Service through mobile internet service which embedded on the subscriber’s mobile phone. Usually there are two mechanisms how the telecommunication company implement Value Added Service (VAS) through mobile internet service based on BREW platform at their bundling mobile phone;

1. Static BREW service

BREW service include client on mobile phone and service which handle application and content management. Static BREW service means that when a telecommunication company plan to create more applications, mobile phones which embedded BREW platform as a client will not be able to be upgraded or modified to the different application. Applications what has been inserted to this mobile phone can be changed to different one. In other words, if Telecommunication Company creates new BREW service, subscriber should change the mobile phone to be able to access new BREW service. In this mechanism, subscriber will have limited service. it is what has been installed on the existing mobile phone

Dynamic BREW service

Dynamic BREW service is giving more choices to subscribers since they can add or change to the new BREW service. This mechanism is giving flexibility to the subscriber to choose which service they love. BREW platform is QUALCOM property. Telecommunication Company should share the revenue to QUALCOM once they agree to deploy BREW service. Usually QUALCOM will charge each application that they have been offered to their subscribers. It means that more application, there will more revenue should be shared to QUALCOM

Telecommunication services based on BREW platform can be update any time when a special moment come or what the popular trend being interested by many people. To accommodate new BREW service through mobile internet service, Telecommunication Company should take different effort depending on what mechanism they have been deployed;

1) Static BREW service

As the existing mobile phone embedded BREW platform will be not able to access new BREW service, Telecommunication Company should produce new mobile phone with new BREW service embedded and add new application on the BREW server. It means that telecommunication company need to spend much money to produce million mobile phones supported with new BREW application

2) Dynamic BREW service

As the existing mobile phone is allowed to modify, change or remove BREW application, then Telecommunication Company only need to add new BREW application on the BREW server. It means that Telecommunication Company will save much money as they do not need to produce million mobile phones
