Telkomsel as the biggest mobile broadband provider in Indonesia commits to keep providing the latest mobile broadband technology to their subscribers. The latest update from Telkomsel is they just tested Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Dual Carrier High Speed Packet Acces Plus (HSPA+). To make this trial, Telkomsel cooperate with several manufactures to provide network infrastructures to deploy LTE and Dual HSPA+ infrastructures such as Huawei, Ericsson and Nokia Siemen

Mobile broadband comparison will lead broadband provider to select which one the best network suit to their network. If mobile broadband provider wants to compare EVDO and HSDPA service and select which one the best technology they can deploy, some parameters they need to consider while compare both are: What current technology they are deploying. It will take much investment while broadband provider migrates to the next generation network. Upgrading the current technology to the next generation network is the best way to reduce investment instead of replacing the entire of current network.

After waiting for long time, finally the first WIMAX product is introduced by First Media the product called Sitra. Sitra will serve WIMAX subscribers at Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Depok areas. Sitra will also serve in North Sumatra and Aceh areas. First Media is one of the winners of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) in Indonesia which running on frequency 2.3 Ghz. First Media launches Sitra WIMAX service after passing trial process period. others WIMAX tender winners are Internux, Berca Hardayaperkasa, First Media, Telkom, Indosat Mega Media, Comtronics Systems Consortium and warta Perdania, Jasnita Telekomindo, and Indonesian WIMAX Consortium.
