ESIA HIDAYAH is working based on BREW platform. BREW is application development created by QUALCOM for mobile and it should be installed on the mobile phone as client. It means to have such service; Bakrie Telecom should cooperate with QUALCOM to have a BREW license and three parties to deploy a servers based on BREW platform and provide many contents.

The are at least two devices need to be inserted to the existing network infrastructures to have download contents services based on BREW platform;

1. Mobile phone injected with BREW platform
2. Application servers

There are two types application that usually inserted on the mobile phone; they are WAP and BREW. WAP is the application service based on JAVA application and it needs high allocation memory on the mobile phone so then it could run well meanwhile the other one is BREW. BREW can run on the mobile phone with low memory. Therefore, Telecommunication Company can build huge mobile phones with cheap price to have Application and Download contents services based on BREW platform

BREW client is built in on the mobile phone by manufacturer. It means with different mobile phone, subscriber will not be able to access the same application and download many contents. Application servers is responsible to process all request from subscribers coming to them including charge the transaction

While subscriber browses the menus from the mobile phone, application server will look into the phone number then identify whether it is valid number or not. There two types services of application based on BREW platform, they are subscription and download content. The application servers will check the status below;

1. Whether subscriber’s mobile number is valid number to access BREW service e.g. balance status of prepaid subscriber, billing issue,
2. Whether they already subscribed to one or more subscription application. If so then application server will allow the user to browse to menus available on the mobile phone. If it is not registered yet, then application server will register the number once subscribers click a registration menu. A disclaimer then will be sent to subscriber
3. If subscriber will access to download content service, application server will provide various contents and deduct the balance once subscriber click a download menu

Application servers will identify each session coming to them, will analyze them and allow some to browse menus available and download contents as many as subscribers need
